Day 1: Melbourne/Moorabbin - Barossa Valley

Enjoy pre flight breakfast in the Vortex Air club lounge prior to a 7:30am departure.

Flying west over Port Phillip Bay with views of Melbourne, we take you inland for a landing at Horsham in the Grampian Mountains for Morning tea before continuing on to Gawler, South Australia.On arrival at Gawler you will be transferred to an air-conditioned mini bus to the stunning Barossa Valley.

Your Barossa Valley experience will begin with a picnic lunch by the lake at  Maggie Beer's Farm Shop followed by cellar door sampling at: Seppletsfield and Grant Burge Wines. During the tour you will view the Barossa Valley from above at Menglers Hill Lookout and learn the facinating history of the area.

Dinner and overnight accommodation at the stunning Novotel Barossa Valley Resort.



Day 2: Barossa Valley - Marree - Lake EyreRe-energise with a buffet breakfast at the Novetel prior to our departure for a short flight into the outback to Marree.

Upon arrival at Marree you will be met by Reg Dodd. A local aboriginal, Reg will escort you across the Artesian desert plains to the Aboriginal settlement of Albrie Station where you will enjoy a BBQ lunch. After lunch we board our 4wd vehicle bound for the shore of Lake Eyre.

With Reg as our guide you will have the opportunity to view beautiful remote desert scenery and locations of cultural and natural significance to the Aboriginal people. You will also have the opportunity to paddle or swim in Lake Eyre.

Enjoy a relaxing dinner and accommodation at the Maree Hotel.



Day 3: Marree - Broken Hill - Melbourne

Day 3 of your tour commences with breakfast at the Marree Hotel.

Following breakfast you board the aircraft for a 1.5 hour low altitude air tour of the vast inland sea of Lake Eyre and its tributry rivers and creeks. The air tour includes the Warburton Groove, the punt at Cooper Creek, Madigan Gulf, Campbell Point, Hunt Peninsula, Jackboot Bay, Delhunty Island, Belt Bay, Goyder Channel and Lake Eyre South.

Returning to Marree for morning tea followed by a departure to the east, you flyl over the stunning  Flinders Ranges and Lake Frome enroute to Broken Hill.

Enjoy lunch in Broken Hill and a tour of the Royal Flying Doctor base prior to a departure south for afternoon tea in Mildura before returning to Melbourne/Moorabbin for the completion of the journey.

Following afternoon tea in Marree you will board the aircraft and fly north towards the spectacular Lake Eyre and its tributory rivers and creeks for a one hour air tour. The air tour includes the Warburton Groove, Madigan Gulf, Campbell Point, Hunt Peninsula, Jackboot Bay, Delhunty Island, Belt Bay, Goyder Channel and Lake Eyre South.

Following the commencement of the Lake Eyre air tour, you fly towards the setting sun for the Opal mining town of Coober Pedy  

Enjoy a relaxing dinner and accommodation at the famed underground Desert Cave Hotel, Cooper Pedy – Explore the Opel Interpretative Centre, have a drink at the bar or enjoy some shopping, all underground at The Desert Cave Hotel.


Day 3: Coober PedyFollowing breakfast at the Dessert Cave Hotel you have the morning to explore the town of Coober Pedy at your leisure.

Lunch at the underground Desert Cave's Crystal Café prior to commencing an afternoon tour of the Coober Pedy district.

Visit an opel mine, the famed ‘Moon Plain’, the Breakaway's, the dingo fence, and an underground church and home.

Dinner and accommodation is once again at the Desert Cave Hotel.



Day 4: Coober Pedy - Broken Hill

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and morning at the Dessert Cave Hotel you will depart Coober Pedy for Arkaroola. Arkaroola is located in the stunning rugged northern Flinders Rangers.

Lunch today is at Arkaroola Village followed by a tour of the Flinders Ranges.

You will tour in a 4wd vehicle, ancient sea beds, razor back ridges and peaks, see the most rugged mountains in the Ranges, visit numerous water holes and learn the history of this ancient landscape.Take in the scenery whilst enjoying afternoon tea in a rugged gorge.

You will return to the aircraft for an afternoon flight to Broken Hill via Lake Frome.Dinner and accommodation is at the lovely art deco Royal Exchange Hotel.


Day 5:  Broken Hill - Melbourne/MoorabbinAfter breakfast at the Royal Exchange Hotel you will tour Broken Hill town and head to the outback ghost town of Silverton, which has featured in many movies.

Explore the historical buldings of Silverton after viewing the breathtaking vistas from the Mundi Mundi Lookout. Enjoy a drink at the Silverton Pub followed by lunch at the Silverton Tea Rooms.

Prior to departure you will tour the Broken Hill Royal Flying Doctor Service Base.

You will then depart Broken Hill for a short hop to Mildura for afternoon tea and then on to Melbourne/Moorabbin for the completion of the journey.

Baggage and things to bring:

Maximum baggage allowance is 8kg including one carry on piece of luggage.

Pack for the season however, bring a sweater if travelling to the outback in winter as temperatures drop in the evenings.

Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and sturdy shoes are recommended for outback tours.
